the Boom

By thewaiter
I grew around this Essex coastal town, this is Shoebury East beach, the boom was built during the second world war to prevent enemy ships crusing up the Thames. My dad used to work the otherside of this submarine Boom in the MOD area.

Top shot.
Everything here to make up an excellent image.
I think it's really pathetic when you get shots of a Hurricane out of focus and the props stationary or some landscape with a green sky and purple sea!!!!! and these snaps get comments like, "Oh really good shot" or "nice image".
However, an image like this doesn't get the comments it should.
This backs up my theory that there are photographers on this site.....

.............and people with cameras!
I shall probably get slagged off by 'SOME' for being a bully but someone has to tell the truth from time to time otherwise we're all going to decend into the depths of "Oh that'll do" photography.

Rant over and flack jacket securley fastened.

P.S. By the way, keep up the good work 'Waiter'. gets my vote.

Can remember when they used this as a range, that regular boom. Great memories invoked by this Kevin. Ron.

thanks all, great feedback.

Laurel, thanks indeed, I try and be honest with my photography, apart from the odd tweak in Capture One and tidying up in photoshop it's a straight shot, all this saturation is tiring on the eyes Wink.

Ron, I wouldn't venture too far over to the other side as I believe there still is the odd boom from the area.
