I spotted some 75-300 sony lenses on ebay last week for 89.99 from PC world, ordered one and tried it out on the macro end I think it works well, it amazed me at how far back you have to be to do the macro great for bugs etc in the summer (if we get one ) Smile

You say that Charlotte, but a true macro lens needs to be reasonably close

I used to use a Sigma 70-300 with the "macro" function, but never the same as a dedicated lensSad

Not a rebuff, just a bit of useful infoWink

Hi Adrian thanks for that, but if you can't afford a macro 1.1 this might be a good second choice at 1.5 and with ext rings that would improve things again, a cheaper option perhaps. We will see once I get the rings I will try them with it Smile
