Thankyou everyone for your encouraging comments on my previous shot and particularly to skydivemike for your award.

This was taken in the lobby of the hotel where the reception was held. I struggled to get the composition I wanted, keeping myself out of the shot and took this in the rare moment when there weren't lots of people in the background.

All comments would be valued and particularly whether you think the black has worked, or any alternative approaches you could suggest? I have a couple of shots of the bride on her own that I could try too.

#2 in mono although not my personal preference for this shot.
#3 is the orginal before the cloning and bootpolish work
#4 is a variant following AliMurray's suggestion - thankyou Smile
#5 vice versa also suggested by AliMurray

Nice use of the mirror.

Like this.

How about keeping the colour but having the reflection in mono or vice versa?

Nicely captured - I actually like the mono version (went to a wedding at the weekend and have 459 shots to wade through!)

Good imaginitive work, almost impossible to get the 'perfect' angle without intruding. I like Ali's suggestions too, preferring #4 to #5.
Have you tried dodging the groom's face in the reflection? He's just a touch in the shade!

Beautiful, engaging composition, first off. V1 is a big improvement on V3, in very subtle, clever ways.
I'm not totally convinced by selective colour in this on, but prefer V5 to V4. Not sure why, on either count.

Some nice work here Tim. V1 definitely my favourite. Not sure about some of the colour & B&W mixes. On a personal level figures in B&W just remind me of death for some reason. As if the life has been taken away if you get my meaning??? I do like how 1 has had all the distractions removed. It's another wonderful shot.

Thankyou everyone for the comments and suggestions.
Understated as ever Bill; I've looked and I can dodge the face a bit, but where it's dark there's little detail and lots of noise.
Understand what you mean with the mono Paul. I like #4 and #5, but after uploading #6, by boss and I commented about the sinister zombie arm reaching out to grab her; and that's all I can see now Smile

Dennis: with that much money to splash around I dread to think what the cake will look like. But as you've just called the Gazelle a Cow; he might not be willing to offer the 5 discount any more Smile
