You may hug the bride

By tigertimb
I missed the kiss from a few seconds earlier where they turned into it, blocking my view entirely Tongue, but I was very pleased with the emotion of this as an alternative

Mono for me this time, though I like the colour too with the red highlighting the reaction of the mother-of-the-bride

Any feedback appreciated: Iso 400, 85mm, f1.4, 1/100sec
Thankyou for the comments on yesterday's candid shot of the bride

Hi Tim
In both pictures color spectrum is very unusual and in the first one a moment caught very interesting, as if you were hiding behind someone's back and taking secretly a picture of something not to be displayed in front of the public Smile
Oh, BTW, I don't believe that mono is the right format for such a bright day as wedding Smile
(Glad that Master John has admitted that too)

Mrs Thatcher in the pink hat seems to be enjoying this as much as I have Tim.

Just trying something. I made the b/g cool and the two main figures warm in colour. I sharpened just the figures.

A well caught moment.

Great Shot!
This is why I always make the effort (especially if you are the official photographer) to attend the reheasal you can see how the wedding is going to unfold and sometime you can kindly advice for better viewing for yourself as well as the congregation; and know where to position yourself as well!
You will never miss a " First lawful kiss again!"Smile

A big thankyou everyone for the comments Smile

Michael; you're assuming that the couple stick to the plans - that's not exactly my experience Wink
I had scouted the church a month earlier but I didn't make the rehearsal this time; but I agree it would have been helpful to get the chance to meet everyone and for the planning - I would have then known that the whole bridal party were going to remain standing for the whole of the service!

Tim, another beautiful shot, well captured even though you missed the "kiss" this shows all the emotion... colour for me though, as mother shows up more, and not so well in mono, and the bride is so radiant

The coloured version is stunning Tim and I really love it, but the mono definitely holds the attention on the couple.

Lovely capture, Tim, like both versions, but think I prefer the mono as the eye is attracted to the red in V2.

v1 works best for me - the focus is so much more on the bride. Even though your dof is spot on, the colour of the red outfit detracts in my opinion

They do look so happy.

For me, the black and white version is much stronger. Although the use of depth of field makes it clear that the bride and groom are the intended subject, the red clothes of the lady in the background grab quite a lot of attention in the colour version.

You've captured this tender moment perfectly, the colour version is my preference as it is much warmer if that makes sense
