    Good effort,

Colours, composition, crop, dof all bang on.

I'm one to talk, but not keen on the font on the presentation, well at least it looks a bit thick.

    I really like this.

The acvtivity around the bench almost brings the bench to life, with it being an observer of all the things that are going on around it.

I think the central composition works well, and would be tempted to clip off the far right side, so the bench is 'bang' in the middle.

Not bad for your first pic. Things to note though:

    1) Bit of branch creeping in the frame from the top. Crop it out.
    2) Horizon is ever so slightly wonky. Either correct in PS (or similar) and lose a bit of edge, or make adjustment next time you take a horizon.
    3) Lose the time stamp in the bottom right.
    4) Boat is a little close to the plant, move around a little to get a bit of separation.
    5) Maybe play with levels/curves to bring out a bit of shadow detail on the left, and give the sky and grass a pit of pop!

Good effort if you are starting out though

I agree with the above. Just the dark area is a little bit too much. I've just run it through PS to see what could be brought out of the shadows and uploaded the modification.

You'd have a much better time with the RAW file though.

I don't think this image even at 1000px does it justice. I'd imagine the shutter would have to seriously fast to get the land and the subjects sharp.

There appears to bit of loss of detail in the planes, but that I think is the compression.

What a difficult shot to try and attempt, and you've done well. Well done!
