A Great Dane

By Tinman
I took this and cut out the girl and the dog and copied it, then I bluured the background and would like to know 2 things is the background blurred too much and how do I get rid of the highlight on the girls face, as every time I try to burn it, it goes black I have the opacityset at 15%

Matt, I think the background is very distracting - if you cut the girl and dog out anyway, why not stick a completely new background on ?
RE: the girl's face - there are many ways around this. I would select the face and promote it to a new layer, darken it with curves then adjust the opacity of the layer until you like the result.

I'm not much use either Matt, maybe if you feathered your selection before you lowered the brightness?

It will be difficult to bring anything back on this because the area has no detail. Have you still got the original raw version before you've copied and pasted etc? Send me that as an email and I will see if detail can be pulled back? If so I could do a short technique on how to do it.
