  • Now could I have some real critiques on this tree? by IamDora

    Hi Dora,

We have explained at long length why we only accept PayPal now and I can see from the internal reports that we’ve tried our best to help you.

I’m very sorry for your personal circumstances with your brother.

That aside, if you simply opened a free account with PayPal you could easily renew. Or pay someone back who does have PayPal. Or pay using online banking.

Please don’t air your frustrations on the site - please continue using the internal report system where your complaint will continue to be handled.

    Kind regards,
    Tracey

Quote:Very disappointed in EPZ - is this a paid-for advert?

Quote:Affinity Photo doesn't just rival other professional and enthusiast-level photo editing software, it easily beats them. Highly Recommended.

Not sure who wrote this review but the summary is plainly nonsense. There may be an alternative universe where Affinity "easily beats" Photoshop, but not in this one.

    Sorry you’re disappointed Bri.

This review is not paid for - we never do that - it’s a completely impartial opinion. Any sponsored articles ‘paid for’ are clearly labelled as such, but we never have paid-for reviews.

We’re not saying it is better than Photoshop - you’ve jumped to that conclusion yourself. We’re saying it more than stacks up against similar alternatives.

Quote:Hi, first of all I would like to thank you for the work you all put into the Christmas comp this year. It must have been a struggle with whats going on in the world so well done. Im pleased to say I was one of the winners of the Affinity prizes and I received the work books yesterday. I was just wondering if the software download link was available yet as I have just noticed that messaging was turned off on my account for some reason?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Congratulations!

We have contacted the client for you and will let you know.

    Thanks,

Quote:is it just a coincidence but the majority of winners (all the better prizes) are 'plus' members?
i, for one, will not be entering again. you should make it clear that the best prizes are only for those who have paid for membership.
this is not sour grapes but a notification to those who are unable to pay for membership.
    EPZ just be honest.

I’ím sorry you feel that way. The winners are selected randomly but I guess if you have a bee in your bonnet then I won’t convince you of that. (It does sound like sour grapes though).

Congrats to the winners! Enjoy your prizes.
Just out of interest. How many people enter the draws?

We had record entries, ranging from the lowest at around 2,000 up to over 5,000 per draw.

Quote:Thanks for your comments, I still can't believe that my name was drawn, I thought that it was a bit of a wind up when I read Nikita's
message, I think it has sunk in now and I can't wait for the parcel to arrive. I have been watching some video tutorials on Youtube to familiarise myself with the camera so that when it arrives I can get straight down to it and put it through it's paces. I would also like to thank
EPZ and Nikon for organising this draw and I hope that my results from using the Camera will do it justice.
Kind regards to everyone at EPZ and stay safe.
    Adrian.E.Mortimer.

Unfortunately Adrian has since tried selling it, on our very own forums!
This is very disappointing as we work so hard to bring you these prize competitions, in a time our industry is really struggling, and no doubt some of the entrants would have loved it and made good use out of it.

Quote:Atleast two people on that list have also won prizes in last couple of years. Coincidence?

The winners are drawn completely randomly.
Not everyone can win, unfortunately, but don’t suggest there’s any foul play.

Well done to the winners and good luck next time everyone else.

  • Posted on: Find The Best Photography Deals With ePHOTOzine's New Price Tracking System

Hi Alan, yes, we receive a commercial benefit by partnering with Amazon which helps fund the site. Other retailers have the option to join the scheme, so we are not restricting it to Amazon exclusively. Of course, everyone has a right to shop wherever they like - we are simply offering an option with Amazon. Look, buy or ignore - the choice is yours.

  • Posted on: Find The Best Photography Deals With ePHOTOzine's New Price Tracking System

Alan, this new system (yes, currently Amazon only until other retailers sign up to the scheme) is not 'paid for' as you suggest. It has been developed for months in-house for the benefit of the site and members alike. So we are proud of it and are therefore shouting about it.

Furthermore, as an aside, I'd like to add that without so-called 'advertising' that some members like to complain about, there would be no site.

Hope that helps clear any confusion.
