"Who you 'stairing' at!?"

By tj
This is my very first attempt at digital manipulation in PhotoShop, following a beginner tutorial from Pete.
The image is looking up the stairs of one of the towers at Barcelona Cathedral.
The original photo was quite dark, had people's heads in and was very dark in the middle. Therefore, I cropped and sharpened it, and tried to brighten the middle to show the detail, using levels.
Any comments will be very much appreciated, as I am only experimenting and keen to get to grips with PhotoShop.

Ah - eternal symbol of entropy and all that.
I'm looking in vain to see where the people's heads were, but that's a crackin PS job. Great shot.

Hi Tracey. This is a great shot. I'm still trying to figure out up and down the stairs, it's a bit optical illusionish.
The Photoshop bit looks great - the steps are clear and well textured/detailed and you can follow them a long way. I might have cropped a tiny bit more on the right to get rid of that black bit at the top corner but that's really being picky.
I think it's a great job Smile
This is great Tracey - very different

Glad I followed a link as otherwise I'd have missed this fantastic shot! I know the Sagrada Familia well, but I missed this view. I'd have said it was looking down, but obviously wrong! The only thing I'd change is to make it B&W.

I love this one, though my heights problem might have stopped me climbing these stairs with no handrail!

Nice one,
