Catching the rays

By tom_earwaker
Taken near Choi Hung in Hong Kong. I warmed up the colours a bit and desaturated some of the blues and cyans. Was trying to get across the sunny, warm atmosphere. but not sure if I went too far (or not far enough!). Been trying to learn more about colour grading recently, not something I've paid much attention to previously. I think its more important with video or sets of images for a kind of 'background mood', but still interesting to play around with.
Thanks for looking.

It does what it says on the can! Hazy light.

The mod has haze reduced a little, slight lens correction, and a very small amount of warming.

For a good way to start with colour, set the cameras white balance to match the light, rather than AWB; this would be a daylight or sun setting.

Regards

Willie
