It seems that the galvanised wire hangers I installed, as a squirrel deterrent are working.
After topping up the feeders on Tuesday evening, I deliberately kept away until yesterday. Plenty of Sunflower hearts still in the feeders, which normally would have been empty.
A Woodmouse kept me entertained, by popping out of the undergrowth for a constant nibble at the peanut feeder, which was lying by the hide.
I guess he/she was only about two feet from me.
Cannot be 100% certain, but I believe a juvenile Yellowhammer called by for a drink of water. No shot unfortunately
Anyway I left the two tables well strewn with mixed seed, fruity pellets & dried mealworms in the hope of attracting a few different species.
Still a few modifications to carry out, before I am completely satisfied (I don't suppose that will ever happen )
It won't be that long, before I am carrying out the mid week feeder top up by torchlight.
As much as I have grown accustomed to the woods and it's solitude, it can be very eerie after dark
Thats all for now folks
Thanks for taking the time to read my waffling
