Butterflies 2015 No 28

By tomcat
A two day round trip to Kent, in the very pleasant company of Nigel & Ben Kiteley and John Starkey, resulted in some fine images of one of our most rarest and protected butterflies.

The beautiful Heath Fritillary Melitaea athalia
A delight to see them, never mind being able to photograph them.

Many thanks to Don (DonMc), Tony (tonyng) & Ron (Maiwand) for their awards given to the SP-bFSmile

A fantastic close up of this beautiful and rare butterfly, you've captured its wing patterns and colours in such intricate detail. This species is also found on Exmoor and Dartmoor in Devon although I doubt you'd have dared venture down there incase you bumped into your nemesis the Big O!Tongue
