Juvenile black mamba

By TomCoetzee
while watching a pride of lion this fellow was spotted in the bushes next to us. One of the most deadliest snakes in the world due to its venom, speed & behavior! Can reach 4m, but seldom seen they are average about 2.5m-3m long. This one was about 1.5m

A little too close for comfort, Tom but a great image - I believe these can rear up and outrun a human - is this true?

Thanks guys! Tony they can reach speed of 25kph, so if you consider that you have to dodge trees & bushes I suppose in theory they can, but this will only happen if you are threatening them. i 've lived in the bush for many years & never had a race against one!Wink
