what a considerate and lovely face.. beautifully captured..
nothing wrong, buddy.. it is what it is.. quite natural, on a cold day, in the outside.. good enough to be appreciated.

Lovely winter style portrait; I should have skin so smooth, I'll bet you're glad you asked the question, certainly worth the risk of rejection.

This is a terrific, spontaneous portrait. No criticism. You got it.

Lovely capture, street portraiture at it's best.
Great skin tones.
Some may suggest more space to the left of her face but I thinks it's just fine.
Was it the camera's built in flash that was used?

Very nice shot of a beautiful woman.

The addition of space on the left can improve this if you like. I would also combine this with cropping space from the top and the right.

The exif data in the file also shows all the camera raw edits you made, which are interesting.

Though its really not a problem, I do find theres a slightly warm, perhaps yellow cast in the shot thats reduced in the mod, that has the space added as suggested. View the mod large.

Regards

Very, very nice. Everything done extremely well and helped rather by the model, a cracker. I might even consider a version coming in a bit tighter cropping top and right to just her face, the point of interest. You do not need the full head which is a conventional pose.

Hi, welcome to the Critique Gallery. I see that you have been on the site a good, while, I hope you have already found it a good place to learn.

Isn't she gorgeous! I opened this assuming a posed portrait, carefully set up and lit - for a spontaneous, improvised shot it is quite amazing.

First of all, to be able to establish this sort of open rapport with a stranger is a gift in itself.

Second - so many things fell into place. The stray wisps of hair framing the face, and distinguishing it clearly from the soft scarf. The neutral grey background, which wide aperture gas thrown very nicely out of focus.

You couldn't very well ask her to rearrange her scarf - the bit of hair peeping through under it is a distraction, but can be cloned out I reckon. There are a few tiny harsh white dots, some are the result of flash hitting shimmery eye shadow; they can be sorted easily, and will probably be much less noticeable in the full file. (I hope you are resizing images yourself for uploading here, and checking over afterwards for any problems. The site uploads at a maximum of 1000 pixels per side, 600 for non-E2 members, and compresses larger files rather aggressively. White specks in the original file can be greatly exaggerated in compression).

Flash creates those small, hard round catch lights in the eyes; again they could be softened and expanded a bit.

Very minor adjustments, but I reckon she's worth it. I'll try a Modification and upload it in a bit. I'm sure you know where to look - under the Modifications button below your upload, click on the thumbnail to view.

Right, I'm off to have a bit of a play...

No real critique from me as I think this is a very good portrait.

The two mods are the same, only the second has been cropped more tightly, whilst the first has had space added to the top and left side.

I felt the white balance was just a bit too yellow, so I altered it towards blue.

I whitened the eyes and the teeth a little, taking away some of the yellow in them. I also straightened the front teeth to see what effect it would have on the portrait.

I evened out the [ very minor ] skin blemishes using dodge and burn techniques and changing their colour using curves.

I added more contrast to the mid tones only. This has the perceived effect of sharpening up the details without creating halos.

An excellent portrait, despite what I've done to it in the modsSmile

Thanks one and all some really good Critique ,
