Yep, shame about the tip of the tail. Although it does look like he's entering the photograph rather than you trying to catch a bird in flight. If you see what I mean. Nonetheless it's a good effort.

Nice try - I would have cheated and 'fixed' the tail in Photoshop.

I like the movement in the wings and the lighting.
Very well done.

I'm going to be different and say that I don't feel that the end of the tail is of any great importance in this shot as it is not a record shot that is intended to show detail and to include it would have made the bird smaller in the frame causing the image to lose some impact. You have captured the bird wonderfully well with good light on the head and considering that it is in flight the sharpness is very good. Well done. Andy

What you caught was excellent and the missing bit matters not,
perhaps even a bigger crop would work.

Quite a nice idea to justify the cut short tail! Smile

All the details and light ..... great capture!

Really like this. Its so sharp where it matters and the focus is on the wings and head and not the tail anyway. Timing is immaculate. Paul

Beautiful detail......I think having the tail complete would have made quite a difference...but shots like these also rely on a bit of luck...nice having a black b'g too...super job
