  • Posted on: Canon launch the IXUS 300 HS

Very appealing feature set. I would be interested to see a comparison against the S90 that I just bought, especially low-light performance. I expect I will prefer the S90's manual control dials to the single touch-sensitive scroll wheel of the IXUS. The HD video and faster 3.7fps continuous shooting sound good though.

I don't understand why the XPan requires lead solder on its circuit boards if the vast majority of current cameras do not.

Looks like a good idea. I often find dust on the inside of my lens/body caps. Seems a bit expensive for a few bits of double-sided sticky tape!

  • Posted on: Fujifilm FinePix S9500 Zoom announced

Looks like a decent spec camera. The new manual zoom control on the lens is a welcome update from the S7000, and still retains the excellent macro functionality. Hopefully the manual focus is direct operation too, and not fly-by-wire as in previous models. Needs to come in at a good price to tempt would-be dslr owners.

Makes my 602 seem even older now!
