  • Silhouette of Roseberry Topping.

I like the different take on this popular subject, though personally I'd frame it without the tree blowing around on the left.

  • In the name of photography !

The way to the bottom is to follow the path down to the wooden bridge, then hike up the bank / through the stream, although there may have been less water when I did it. There's also a car park just 5min from this viewpoint!

As for the photo, I like the autumnal colours and flowing water. It's got me thinking about going back there myself.

  • Two Shrooms

No problem with focus or DOF on either of these, and the lighting is good too. My only suggestion would be to show a bit more of the surroundings, particularly the base, to enhance the location of the shroom.

  • Dunetastic!

Lots of interesting detail throughout this windswept landscape.

  • It's That Bridge Again

Good time of day for balance of natural lighting and illumination.

  • It's a brown one

A little brown one it is! I really like the colours and details in the lichen and wood supporting the fungus. I'd probably have cropped the same as you, but thanks for sharing the original too.

  • Fungi Family

You do very well to find these clean fungi - or do you use a blower brush! Wink

The low viewpoint works well here. I like the bit of light coming back through the fleshy cap.
    • 2 Nov 2010 11:10PM
  • Harvest Mouse

An adorable little creature portrayed well in this well-lit and detailed photo.

  • Great Spotted Woodpecker

Wonderful wintry foreground and backdrop to complement this attractive bird.
    • 2 Nov 2010 10:31PM
  • Two of a Kind

Nice to find these perched up high on a log, they're usually low down in the leaves. Good detail on the spiky bits.
    • 2 Nov 2010 2:15PM
  • Fungi I

The external flash has brought out the colours very well.
    • 1 Nov 2010 4:08PM
  • The Big Green Eye

Now there's something you don't see every day! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful part of the world.

  • Tea in Epping Forest

A good find, and one that had not been faked by someone else! Just curious, did the rusty tones get lost in the autumn leaves of the colour original?
    • 1 Nov 2010 12:43PM
  • Hanging ON

Nice little group with the moss and autumn leaves to add colour & detail.

  • "Steamer Lane - October 2010 XXIV"

Good colour and lighting, in addition to a well-timed shot
    • 30 Oct 2010 12:51AM
  • A Hard Life

My, what big teeth he has!
    • 30 Oct 2010 12:25AM
  • If you go down to the woods

Not as eye-catching as your earlier version
    • 27 Oct 2010 11:53PM
  • Tawny

Nicely positioned and framed by the tree
    • 27 Oct 2010 11:51PM
  • Britcar 24hr #2

Good balance of light at both ends of this one
    • 5 Oct 2010 10:31PM
  • British F3

Good composition, and I like the mono treatment
    • 4 Oct 2010 10:12PM
  • Britcar 24hr

Very impressive - I like the three principal light sources separated by darkness in the relfection. The brake glow is a nice touch.

Did you pan with the tripod on this one or hand-hold with IS? As we discussed, I'm not sure I could have pulled off this shot with the kit I have at the moment. Is that a good enough reason to upgrade? Smile

  • You don't say...

Nice one. Was that in the way for all of your runway shots? Wink
    • 21 Jul 2010 11:02PM
  • War Birds

Nicely positioned in the sky, and good selection of shutter speed for a touch of prop blur.
    • 19 Jul 2010 9:03AM
  • Patrouille de France

They were certainly good at flying very close together!
    • 18 Jul 2010 8:02PM
  • Raptor Jetwash

Nicely timed shot with the corner of blue sky. The Raptor was awesome during that display.
    • 18 Jul 2010 7:58PM
  • Lady's Smock

Good use of a shallow dof. Nicely chosen orientation of the subject too.

  • Snakes Head Fritillary III

    Simple & beautiful
    • 27 Apr 2010 7:28PM
  • Sedge warbler

Fantastic clarity and spot-on focus amongst the reeds.
    • 27 Apr 2010 7:24PM
  • Sweep Rush

Proof that when you get in really close, there's a lot of unseen beauty in nature that most of us just pass by without a second thought.

Well done for making grass look interesting!
