Messing about on the water.

By Tony_W
Another shot from my recent trip to the Lakes.
It was a great day for sailing, I guess they thought so too.
Again it was the colours, light and textures that drew me to this shot. The boat gives that extra bit of interest in the shadows.

Exposure: 100th @ f9 - 100 ISO

Any comments or criticism welcome.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Tony. Nice to see you back amongst the living Smile
Excellent image. Very nicely composed and good use of dof.
It's an image that has got a great feeling of relaxation to it.
One small point. The top r/h corner has a lighter patch that just pulls your eye away. Might be worth cloning that out???
Great shot nonetheless.

I like the big wide world vs small insignificant sail boat feel to this image - love the autumn colours and low light too. Excellent work

Best wishes

I agree about that light patch - just draws the eye away. But super lighting on the trees. I'll be off to see the Lakes next week, so I'm hoping to catch the trees looking this autumnal. I love the serenity of this scene - great work.

A lovely shot. Personal preference, but I'd have lined up the boat 1/3 of the way into the picture, rather than nearer the middle.

A brilliantly taken shot.

Thanks for the votes and comments so far.
Paul, missed that bit of light. I've edited it out on the second version and it works a treat.
Sarah, I thought about cropping tighter on the left but I'd have lost the nicely lit trees on the left hand edge. I liked the lit trees too much to loose them.
