Sherlock Holmes

By tony64
Moving into London's pubs for today's upload. Around the corner from Great Scotland Yard is the Sherlock Holmes pub, Northumberland Avenue, just off Trafalgar Square.
It is said that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created Sherlock Holmes while waiting for his patients to attendhis surgery. The walls of the bar are decorated with Holmes memorabilia and objects connected with his cases. Upstairs, in the restaurant, is a reconstruction of the front room at number 221B Baker Street, (V3) complete with the bust supplied by Madame Tussauds when it was learnt that a sniper had been hired to shoot Holmes from an upstairs window of a nearby house!

Versions 4,5,6 are windows in the front of the pub.

Thanks for looking, have a good weekend,

Really attractive sign and well captured. Some great shots to accompany it to.

Pity more are not taking part!

What a superb set of image Tony. I'm surprised he can see much through all that smoke!

This is a really good one, Tony, the pub looks pretty classy too. Only one thing, though - I doubt it was called Sherlock Holmes when it was established in 1736!
