It certainly grabs attention and for all the right reasons. I agree it is lovely to look at. I reserve my right to be wrong but I think it is a Mahonia rather than a Holly.

Well thanks for that Sam. Mahonia you say. Great. Maybe that's why it looks better than ordinary. It was taken at friend Peter's old truck garden farm. The farm grew foods for the coal mining town of Cumberland BC. There are Japanese and Chinese plants and trees choices still growing here. It is now a well cared for hobby farm with no crops except for fruit trees and a few trees with some odd sorts of blooms along with nut trees. TG
