Like the atmosphere in this and the b&W adds good contrast and impact.

My only little niggle would be the composition. Maybe get down low and let the cobbles lead you into the frame.

A good contrast between light and shade. I think it balances quite well. There is just enough shadow detail on the LHS to this effect.

The line of the receding post suggests to me that the angle of view chosen was the correct one.

Overall , a well taken picture.

This is something really similar and I love it.

this looks to me like an area that I'd carry a big stick or have a big dog with me or even a body guard..it definitely has mood to it. nice sheen upon the cobblestones though.

Beautiful composition. Wise choice of angle of view. I think, the wet cobble stone path added excellent texture.
