Here? No, here!

Film Friday scan of an Agfachrome transparency.
Hill walkers, St Davids day, 1985 on the summit of Snowdon, taken with an Olympus OM4.
Colour as was, just spot removal and cropped in Photoshop. .
Image went on to gain a Highly Commended in the 1985 ICI Photographer of the Year Award, Intermediate Slides (must have been a quiet year, or more likely, every entrant get one.) Image also published in issue 8 of PhotoPlus, September 1992 as a runner up in the Minolta competition."and they didn't know I was there" First prize a Minolta, runner up a tenner.Sad Still have the certificate though, doubtful I would have still had the Minolta.

It's a rams horn, Walt and it stunk! He was a workmate who would collect such things, antlers and such and make them into handles for walking sticks, etc. Sadly, long since passed away.

It's was all down to the fabulous mountain light and the need to be seen in cloud and mist or when collapsed in the bracken, Jenn

Changing one did cross my mind, Jan but it's not a "lucky" colour, sailors and Mountain Rescue Teams are not great fans of it either. My favourite though but not that day.

Lost!?? We're not lost! I know exactly where we are, we are right here! Now if I can just work out where 'here' actually is....Grin

It used to "amuse" me greatly, Dave when some people would only get a map out when they were lost. Not too bad if they had an identifiable feature or top to take a bearing off (if they knew how to) but not a lot of use in mist and cloud

That's assuming they haven't drained their batteries, Trev, updating their arsbook profiles from idiot to imbecile on the way up!
Tops used to be places of solitude (some) and reflection, places gained by skill and fitness, walking on a bearing, aiming off points in mist, dead reckoning, counting footsteps and timings, etc. Not any more, full of buggers staring and bellowing into an LCD screen, who wouldn't have clue how to get down, in the right place without their fifth limbs.
