This week we managed to get out on Dartmoor again despite poor weather. We went out on Tuesday despite rain forecast and we were largely fortunate to miss the worst of it though sporadic showers did catch us from time to time.
Yar Tor.
And that Pony.
On the way to Yar Tor we spotted this lone tree fairly typical of Dartmoor.
This was on the forward slope of the Tor and a little further up was these Lichen covered rocks the Lichen was a vibrant green.
A little further up the hill we had these views, Yar Tor is much bigger than we first thought.
From Yar Tor we headed across to Corndon Down where there is a memorial cross on the forward slope.
From the cross you can see Sharp Tor.
We headed up to Corndon Tor and I was horrified when I saw someone had stuffed their rubbish into the crack in the rocks.
That is until I went up to retrieve it and found these...................
We made our way back to Sharp Tor and stopped for lunch at an ancient Hut Circle that overlooked the Tor.
Then up to the Tor and that rain we knew was coming.
A couple of extras from the trip.
