There's a lot of these about this year.

Love the autumn colours. Works well.

Love the colours of the leaves, but I think the mushroom is a little overexposed, and you've lost a lot of its finer detail.

You got down well for a good angle, but the flash was too close/ too powerful and it has over-exposed your 'shroom. I'm no expert, but I have tried, and can recommend, ditching the flash and trying a small torch. Give it a go.

I agree with the flash thingy. I'll try the torch. Nice one! Smile
Thanks all

Good try Tracey, angle is fine but would suggest a little more cropped from the bottom and the left so that the main mushroom is not right in the centre of the shot. Also the leaf to the right of the mushroom is a bit distracting and could have easily been removed before the shot. 'Shroom shots often need a bit of 'gardening'. I agree, also, flash too strong leading to the burnt out detail on the gills. Rather than messing about with a torch I often put a piece of crumpled kitchen paper in front of the flash, this reduces the power and diffuses the light and this reduces bad reflections too.. A friend also suggests using a Rizla cigarette paper to cover the front of the flash unit (lick'n'stick :O)) Hope this helps, Bill.
