Rhapsody in Blue

By Tracey_Morley
Landcross is in Devon, the County where the sky is always blue, and the sun always shines. (when it isn't raining)! It's usually a quiet dingy sort of outlook, where the lads fish off the bridge.
Today was different and it really did look like this! Beautiful, don't you think?
Looks better bigger, but I don't know how to do that! Sorry

Thanks all, no, I didn't use a polarizer, whatever that is!! It was a crap digital camera, and it was a lucky case of point and shute!! Smile
Cheers Rob, I'll look at that one.

Nice landscape shot. The middle horizon really makes the shot static, and helps the feeling of peace to this shot.

Sweetheart. A polarizer is a camera filter. It's round, and has two parts. One part stays still while you turn the other one. It's designed to help reduce reflections and cut through haze. It can bring out deep blues in the sky and water (depends on what angle you turn the filter). Overall, it enhances colors--like polarizing sunglasses.

Take care!
Thanks Richard! Like I said, I'm one of the point and shoot brigade at the moment, but hey, i'm learning !!! Thanks again, I think i'm gonna get one!

You're welcome, Tracy.

About that "I'm one of the point and shoot brigade," don't go knocking yourself. You can still take great pics with a "point and shoot." Here's an article I dug up for you:
Points and Shoots I'm a true believer that it's the photographer and not the camera that makes great shots. And we just need to learn to work within the limits of our equipment to make things happen. I think you're doing fine.

Take care!
Thanks Richard. I had a read and it does give some good tips. (Isn't he good)! As I am now well and truly hooked, all information recieved is very welcome! Thanks again. :0)

What a great area to be shooting photos.....

I can easily see my self sitting in a lounge chair in a shady area, feet dangling in the water, tadpoles bumping against my toes. I've got a cane pole on one side, a cooler full of snacks and beverages on the other, and I'm trying to stay awake while watching the red and white bobber on the fishing line, listening to the birds chirp and flutter through the trees with the drone of the insects humming in the background..........nature's lullaby.

Very nice capture with great reflections. The converging diagonals of the lakeside make for a goodc composition!

A very pleasing scene with a mirror image of the sky and reflections from the shore, too.
