Boston Holocaust Memorial

By Trev_B
Situated in the heart of Boston is their memorial to the Holocaust.

Etched with thousands of numbers of the Holocaust victims.... I stops you dead in your tracks as stark reminder of what humanity can do to each other.

V2 and V3 are close ups of two of the panels, there are six such towers all bearing numbers and stories from survivors.

Yes you are right, I nearly cropped the last two lines out as I could not get further away to capture more of the message, I thought it would miss the point then.

So sad. A poignant series. There is a Holocaust museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, which has one of the boxcars the poor people were shoved into to be transported to the concentration camp. And what brings it sadly into the present - they had to have extra security to prevent anti-Semitic attacks.

If I am honest - when I shot this place I had tears in my eyes.
It is when you realise that the 'smoked glass' is actually the etched numbers of all the dead ...... 1 million on each of the six towers

A sad reminder indeed, but still a necessary remind, a great set Trev!
