CD's CDs

By TrevBatWCC
Now for something completely different! A quickie break from the Isle of Man...
We've started having Zoom online Camera Club meetings to hold them from home, and on Monday we had a presentation about subjects to photograph, and faffing around with images in Photoshop, whilst we're all confined to indoors. One of the ideas was this, macro close-ups of water droplets on a CD, using a lamp or torch to create rainbow colours.
So, to pass away an hour or two, dusted down my macro lens and tripod, and did a similar setup, and these are a few of the results. Focusing manually on the largest droplet, I used the torchlight on my iPhone to illuminate the subject, holding it above in different positions to vary the results. Only the last was lit by available window light.
I racked my brains for a title, and came up with CD's CDs - Compact Disc's Compact Droplets! 😃

Many thanks to Isabel (Chinga) for her User Award on my previous upload, Laxey Lines , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw images processed in Nikon Capture NX-D, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 😀👍

Good to have your explanation, Trev. Thank goodness I don't need to check my entire collection for symptoms of bubonic plague!
A good idea for an abstract; the colours work particularly well.
Which musical genre(s) produce this effect most successfully? Any recommendations?

I wonder if you could be creative with a cassette? These work very well Trev, and I especially like the refracted colours.

Well done with your new technique Trev. I especially like V5.
I've never tried this one but have seen examples of it.
It is interesting to see how the light is diffracted and the colours produced.
