Reflections of Amsterdam

By TrevBatWCC
Hope you all had a good long Bank Holiday weekend, and enjoying this hot sunshine! Smile Back to near the end of March, the next full day outing on my Netherlands holiday took us to Amsterdam. Saw no sunshine at all that day, but was mainly fine with just a little rain. The coach dropped us off near the railway station, where from nearby most of us went on the optional boat trip around the canals before exploring the city. Just after we set sail, passed this reflective building, Kamer van Koophandel (Chamber of Commerce) - thought it might suit mono, but can't decide which I prefer.

Many thanks to Colleen, Carol (canoncarol) and Oliver (bliba)for their User Awards on my previous upload Dutch Girl , most appreciated Smile

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging Smile

Wonderful reflections, Trev.
Both versions work equally well for me.

The colour has it by a whisker, Trev. I couldn't miss the crinkly reflection of the yellow crane; I know it's there in the mono too, but one abiding memory of Amsterdam is the prevalence of building work going on!
In the Rijksmuseum we bought a poster, a Vermeer painting 'doctored' with the addition of 21st century skips, cranes and medieval figures wearing safety helmets, very reminiscent of older areas of the city at the time of our visit.

The mono works perfectly for such a busy scene but the blues are lovely too.

Despite my penchant for b&w, I think I'm going for the colour version, Trev. For no other reason that the beilding crane is more prominent. IN the version it gets lost.

Top class Trev. Fine shot.

Like 'em both a lot Trev, and the B&W just edges it for me.
