I'm watching you!

By TrevBatWCC
On a photographic trip over to Leeds a few years back I went around this area, just a short walk from Leeds City railway station. This is one of several shots I took of the Regus Princes Exchange, a winning design of the City of Leeds Award for Architecture 2000, sandwiched between the River Aire & Aire Street. Taken with the 10-20mm lens, I pointed the camera up to get a more dramatic view, and this alien crept in on the right and looked down at me...😁
This particular image never got onto EPZ, so thought I'd reprocess it, and also do a mono conversion. The version is the same shot in colour.
(image taken 11/03/2010)

Many thanks to Andrew (Acancarter), Kate (Irishkate), Angela (Adagio), Peter (Mollycat), Lynne (Lynne Joyce), Dave (HobbitDave) and Ray (ThePixelator) for their User Awards on my previous upload, Wakefield Town Hall 3 , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, mono conversion in Nik Collection's Silver Efex Pro 2, colour tweaked in Nik Collection's plugins and Photoshop Elements 2020.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 😃👍

Very good indeed, Trev; excellent in fact. Upward-looking b&w photos of tall buildings are frequently impressive but don't often have a lot else to say; this one does. For example, rather than being shot in portrait format to stress the height, yours expresses a relationship within the environment; the humour helps it along.
I like it Smile

That's a cracker, Trev. The mono please, as the image is all about geometry and, as Bill says, relationships, while the colour version tends to water this down with a multitude of tones, to my way of thinking anyway. I also agree the (presumably) CCTV makes a wonderful juxtaposition.

That's a fine composition, Trev, and I like both versions equally.
The close association of the rounded lamps with the straight geometric lines of the Exchange makes for excellent contrast and a very eye catching urban shot.

Love the colour version Trev.
Great composition too - fabulous building and the street light is fantastic too - with its human looking eyes!

Love the contrast between the building and the two 'eyes'. Very well taken Trev.

The executives on the upper floors of the building safely well above the prying eyes (and ears?) of the devices disguised as street lighting...

I agree with Bill (woolybil1) above, I prefer the B&W but both are excellent.

Both are excellent Trev. Can't say I prefer one over the other. The b&w is more graphic while the colour is lovely and the cloud looks like smoke coming off the light. Excellent images.
