Silver Street

By TrevBatWCC
Another from the archives, taken on my last visit to Robin Hood's Bay in July 2016. For anyone who hasn't been, it's a very picturesque old fishing village on the Heritage Coast of the North York Moors 9 km / 5 miles south of Whitby. Wandering through the maze of narrow, twisting cobbled streets and alleyways, you can easily imagine the sailors and fishermen, smugglers and press gangs that walked these streets hundreds of years ago. Silver Street shown here is just one of such streets, and on looking back I did upload it back in 2016 but in colour. Thought it suited this mono conversion.

Many thanks to Lin (LinH), Sylvia (Silviwhalley), Kate (Irishkate), Geoff (simmo73), James (jacome), Ray (ThePixelator) and Isabel (Chinga) for their User Awards on my previous upload, Mermaid Street, Rye , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, mono conversion in Nik Collection's Silver Efex Pro 2, and tweaked in Photoshop Elements 2020.

Thanks again to everyone for your vote & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 😃👍

Super b&w treatment Trev, the lighter tonal ranges increases the feeling of a sunny day.

Some nice light on this very attractive old street scene, Trev. The mono does work very well. I haven't been there, but this makes me want to go.
