St John's Parish Church, Walchsee

By TrevBatWCC
On a ĎTyrolean Tourí day trip out, we stopped off at Walchsee for coffee and some delicious apple strudel. Walchsee is located 18 km north east of the city Kufstein between the lake with the same name and the foot of the majestic Kaiser mountain range. Itís church, St Johnís Parish, was built some 360 years ago and became an independent parish in 1891. Formerly a gothic building, the church was extended in Baroque style in 1702. The high altar, designed by Martin Lengauer, dates back to 1760.

V1 and V2 have the atmosphere for me - cool marble interior, clean light, silence, personal space, as a contrast to the heat and bustle outside.

Very ornate these Austrian churches Trev, and you've captured this very well in all three shots. V1 just shades it with a good symmetrical feel to it.
