The Chemists

By TrevBatWCC
Firstly, many thanks again to Colleen (ColleenA) for her UA on my previous upload 'High Street, Blists Hill', most appreciated Smile
Next to the grocer's shop shown in that upload is the chemist's shop, which stands on the corner of High Street and Canal Street. After buying a stick of liquorice (no, not the root as seen on the counter!) in the shop, the young lady behind the counter kindly posed for me Smile Did a mono conversion (V2), but can't decide if I prefer it in colour. V3 is the chemist's from outside.

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 5 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Trev Smile

It's the little details that count here, lots of fascinating stuff. I like the look of the glass containers - worth a play with a long lens I think.
I wonder when the chemist's at Beamish will open, particularly as it will also be a photographer's shop.

I would be like a kid in a Sweet Shop so much to see and capture. Great photography. I love the warmth of the colour whilst the monochrome adds to the bygone charm

Prefer the b/w version, makes the shop assistant's wonderful smile stand out.

Coincidence Trev. My mother had a chemist shop in Southampton. My surname is Hunt. Remember the old shop well, so many things in this one we had. Great memories. Thanks.

Sorry, Trev, but only V 1 will open for me: I have had this problem before.......not sure if my computer is halting up, or is the site.
Anyway, what a lovely shot V 1 is with all that history around and with that bonny smiling face such a bonus.
