Western Cleddau River, Haverfordwest

By TrevBatWCC
Leaving St Davids, the coach took us on a tour of the Pembrokeshire countryside on the way back to Tenby, stopping off first here, at Haverfordwest. Our driver, who was Welsh and lived in Bridgend, on arriving said he didn't like the place, but it was on the itinerary so we had to visit it! I couldn't get excited about the place either, and a heavy rain shower whilst there didn't help with any inspiration either.
These two images were taken after it cleared up, the lead looking north along the Western Cleddau River which flows through the town and towards Old Bridge, the street which crosses the river north of the town centre, with the version looking south, being taken from Old Bridge.

Many thanks to Chris (nobby1), Richard (DicksPics), Carol (canoncarol), Ronnie, Ray (ThePixelator) and Diane (Fefe) for their User Awards on my previous upload St David's Cathedral Interior: 2 , and also to Dave (HobbitDave) for his Award my earlier upload, St David's Cathedral , most appreciated 🏆👍

Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Nik Collection's Viveza 2 and Photoshop Elements 14.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging 👍

It looks a quiet place, Trev - you can always rely on coach drivers to let you know how they feel!!
Two excellent, well compose and taken images - I like the inclusion of the couple walking along the riverside in the lead shot.
Very well processed, as always.

It's a testament to your images that the place looks rather appealing! On the basis of this I think I would be tempted to park up if passing through. SmileSmileSmile
Two excellent images
Love the composition here Trev! Fine leading lines too. Fine and sharp and with beautiful colors!
Good work!

Two superbly composed and processed scenes Trev. I lived in Bridgend in the '40s. I'm in no rush to go back.

At least it looks very clean and tidy, even if it was boring...Smile

Like Eric I too think you've made Bridgend looking very appealing.
Think I prefer the version.

It was Haverfordwest that wasn't appealing, not Bridgend!
