Last of the Light

By Trevhas
As i was walking back to the car the sun broke through a gap in the dark cloud giving amazing light. Luckily i had just passed the most photogenic subjects on Stanage edge, the Millstones. I ran back up the hill knowing i had only a few minutes before the huge cloud would close for the day. It was a pleasure to shoot with the best light and cloud i had seen in the Peak District until the cloud moved in sending me on my way with a smile.

Nice photo, and you can count yourself fortunate to have had that light for sufficient time to grab the image. In my eyes it is a tad oversaturated but that is only a minor issue.
Well worth the run back. The light is spot on and the cloud compliments the image. Taken from a great angle nice one.

Regards.

Thanks for your comments mugshotmyk it was truly unbelievable light there was no need to use photoshop saturation or any thing else apart from a lee 0.9 soft grad however the camera saturation setting is setup for 2+ as a personal preference. I wish someone was there to share the moment, i had a little over 12 minutes (seemed like 5) of harsh evening light according to the exif data on my last 6 images starting 6302 on my November album www.trevorhaslam.viewbook.com .

Everything about this image makes reminds me of living up in Lancashire and Yorkshire. The light is wonderful but the composition really makes the best use of it. You should feel proud of yourself for getting this one...Peter
