I was going to title this photo 'Distant Trees' because if i look close enough through the mist on the right i'm sure i can see up to 4 trees but if i look again i can see only 2.
Should have gone to picsavers !!
Trees without leaves look great in the mist....as these do here. My only crit with this is that most of the area of interest is on the left, from the right of the river there isn't much to hold the attention. I know there has been a bit of debate on Portrait versions....and feel that this is one occasion where an upright version would improve the comp
I like this image !! Great atmosphere captured here !
Thanks for your opinion Martin but i like it the way it is thanks, i saw it as a landscape divided into quarters, stream, trees, mist and grass and i liked the balance of the bland stream with the mist. As i have mentioned previously i take photos for my enjoyment at the angles i choose and don't follow current trends, photography as you know is very subjective and as an art form there are no right or wrongs see 'Photograper of the Year 2012' award. So i photograph things the way i see it and only post the pics i like so that my pf will continue to give me pleasure.
This is a beautiful image and, for me, the landscape format is perfect. It leads ones eye into the misty unknown, and becomes a poetic piece, not just a photograph. Beautifully done!
Thanks Joline, that makes three of us. It was the drifting mist that stopped me in the first place and now i find my eyes staring into the void, trying to see more trees.
Trees and mist alway produce atmosphere, i personally like composition, superb image Trevor.
