Welcome to my Wildlife & Nature Photography Website. My passion is to photograph wildlife and nature. My wildlife photography mostly takes place in and around my home county of Norfolk.
My love for birds began back in the mid eighties, when I bred Canaries & Parakeets. I spent many years breeding Parakeets for different ranges in colour mutations, breeding at least 80 or more youngsters at the end of each breeding season.
This then led me into photography, as I needed to keep records of the birds. As a result of this I had photos published in Cage & Aviary and also an American Magazine. Articles were also written along with the photographs and I also won an award for the best in show with one of my Cockatiels. As this was the first ever recognised Cockatiel Club in the UK, this path guided me to where I am now.
My favourite birds around the Norfolk area to photograph are the Barn Owls and Kingfishers. Both these species are magnificent to watch and I spend many hours doing so. I prefer to rely on fieldcraft where possible, although I also use the hides on reserves where they offer a good chance of getting good shots.
Norfolk is renowned as probably the best all round county for birding in the UK. This is based mostly on its reserves and other protected areas and because the farmland is some of the most intensively used in the country. Its location also makes it one of the top counties for rarities, which turn up in Autumn and Spring and bring even more Birders to the coast.
