Daydreamer

Just the 5' octobox as main light on this shot, but wish I had added the hair light that was included on the first few shots of this set just to kick that little bit of light behind Mel's head. The second shot is just a wider view.

I found the old 'chaise' in a local auction rooms during the winter and this was the first shoot using it.

Like the toning in these and good details too Marcus
For me in both version the uncovered knee and leg draw attention away from the subject and the dress.
In version 2 she also looks a little lost on the seat, have you looks at a crop in from the LHS on this one?
To the start of the arm perhaps.
Only my thoughts.

Thanks for the comment Richard.

The toning is one of about 15 presets that I created in Lightroom one rainy day which I apply before finishing in photoshop, I've found it applies well to shots with the studio walls as a background.

I'm aware that I don't always select the strongest shots from shoots, I always select what I think will look good in my printed album. I do have a lot of photos from this set still to process, which include many closer in, so another set on here is possible in the future. I wanted to process one with all of the chaise in, but as I really only work with a 50mm lens now it's a bit tight in the studio space.

Although my thoughts at the time was to keep the shot simple (just Mel,the chaise and wall) I now think I should have added some other props into the shot, plantstand maybe, more cushions, to balance it out a bit on the lefthand side.

Think that may be a good plan Marcus, be interested in the tonning setting you created if you are willing to share.

I think I prefer V2. I really like the tones.
