Quote:Very strong image, but those cables need to go!

  • Wasp beetle and dew drops

Quote:So that's a 'Wasp Beetle' is it? I entered a competition with a picture of some of these and the judge was sarcastic when I used the latin name because I didn't know the colloquial name.
Yes, Clytus arietis to give it its proper name Smile

  • Point of Ayr lighthouse

The sunny weather was needed for me to spend the evening throwing water about on a beach to get the shot Smile
    • 11 Aug 2014 8:40PM
  • Juvenile Hare amongst Cornflowers

Your wife must be quieter than mine when you are photographing if you manage to get this close Grin

  • One for Sorrow...

Great capture of the irridescent colours Smile

  • Water balloon

I would never have noticed, but now I see what you mean Smile Someone said my last water balloon shot looked like David Cameron, not sure which is worse!

  • Fight to the Death

The dunnock in our garden is just as territorial as the robin, but never seen anything quite like this!

  • This is my tree

Quote:A superb image "Two for the price of one" Just a pity that you had not used a smaller aperture then both birds would have been beautifully in focus, but hey ho that's photography

    Regards Nathan

I did try some shots with a smaller aperture, but the bullfinch was too far back to be in focus, so had to settle for him being a blurred menace in the background Smile

  • Larking about

    Typical spaniel Smile

  • Brambling

Now I know what I saw on our birdtable last week! It looked like a chaffinch wearing a balaclava and I never thought of a brambling Smile

  • Jackdaw

It's not actually mono, that's just the weather in the UK at the moment Grin

  • Feral

Keep feeding her an she might surprise you one day. When an ex-feral/stray sits on your lap for the first time is always a great moment, although sometimes it takes a long time and a lot of food!

  • Taffy's Fire

Our ginger tom used to climb inside the stove when he was a kitten, don't know how he has managed to survive to old age Smile

Thanks for the praise, but it's not selective colour, the sky really was that grey yesterday afternoon!

  • Art deco duck

I did consider cropping it tighter but thought it would be a bit too obscure then Smile

  • Catzilla

Yeah, I was tempted to photoshop in a skyscraper in front of him
    • 9 Dec 2013 10:57AM
  • Cheers!

It's all in the wrist action (and a lot of trial and error) Smile
    • 26 Aug 2013 7:39PM
  • The blue blob

What looks like noise is actually the teflon coating of a baking tray I used to put water in (it was the only thing I could find the right size in our kitchen!). The tray has about 5mm of water in, and I dropped a blue hydrogel ball into it, with 2 remote flashes (one left, one right). Hydrogel looks like water, but bounces like a rubber ball, it's great fun to experiment with.
