Another cracker Alun, I'm so impressed with the sharpness of that 300mm with the 2x TC with the 5dMkIII, wonder if Santa will bring me one!!! Just noticed the high ISO as well, the feather detail is preserved beautifully, so impressed I really want that camera and lens!!!! What sharpening and noise reduction have you used in post-processing if any? Regards, Andy

Hi Andy
I had to sell the wife and kids to get that lens Smile Well actually I traded in a lot of kit apart from my 16-35F2.8Lii which remains my weapon of choice. The appeal of this lens for me was the promise that it could be a relatively portable 300, 420 and 600 on a full frame DSLR that can handle the higher ISO needed to get a reasonable shutter speed at F5.6 (i.e two stops down with the 2xTC from wide open F2.8. ) With the 1.4TC at F4 there's no problem. The results I've had have been really pleasing. Autofocus remains fast and responsive and the IQ is hopefully evident above. I only applied a small amount of noise reduction in ACR and only sharpened as per normal for any shot(even those taken at ISO 100) in CS6 after resizing for EPZ. If you are really serious about getting this lens then pm me your email address and I'll send you the raw file to examine and judge for yourself, Andy.

My favourite of this series. The branch and the green moss give it that something extra. Quality photography particularly impressive considering this is out of your comfort zone. Well done on the awards. Very much deserved.
