Super composition Alun, like the choice of shutter speed,

The mono bug is still there so I've added a split-toned version.

Beautiful, and the falling water is perfect so 1/10 is the way to go. Thanks. I needed that. TG

Great PoV and the shutter speed shows the water movement really well. For my tastes this looks a bit HDR; unnaturally bright in all areas for such a sunny day and a bit grannular in the details. Not sure how this happened, was it an HDR process? I reckon a bit more tonal range and shifting the histogram to the left in your RAW editor by reducing the exposure or adjusting curves would correct this. Looks like a place worth revisiting.

Thanks everyone.
Not HDR but Al's observation does reflect a conscious decision on my part to go for a more painterly effect. The sunlight was quite strong and I applied a mild Orton effect that has boosted the midtones to a level that imparts the appearance of an illustration rather than perceived reality. Definitely not my usual approach. I did like the split-toned effect in v2 though.

I do prefer V2 for sure, it looks like a pen and ink illustration. My comment about V1 is probably based on my prejudice against 'obvious' HDR images; just not my bag! Grin

A terrific composition and perfectly timed water movement Alun. The processing of the colour file may not be strictly 'realistic' but I really like it. That said I love the split toned version. Absolutely superb.

Beautiful photo, great composition and flow.
I am 100% with Al in that I definitely prefer V2 as V1 looks a bit too much HDR for my very personal taste but I can see why a lot of people like the effect.
V2 on the other hand as all the atmosphere, details and light/shadows I love. Perfect conversion! And as the others say - the flowing water is absolutely brilliant. Smile
