Deir Hajla

By ubaruch
The small orthodox chapel of Deir Hajla is part of the Saint Gerasimus monastery, some 6km north of the Dead sea and about 3.5 km west of the river Jordan.
The shot was taken hand-held, despite the poor lighting conditions. But with the excellent, manual focusing, Loawa lens the results are astonishing.

Wonderful architecture, superbly captured, Uri.
Brings back memories of a visit to Israel in 1993.
Every year we display an olive wood nativity scene below our Christmas tree - bought from a shop in Bethlehem.
