Starry Night

By ubaruch
Star trails shot at Ramon crater, an erosional giant crater n the northern Negev desert of southern Israel.
There are 2 smaller similar crates adjacent to this one - all three are geologically unique worldwide,
The shot was taken with Sony A7II mounted on a Benro tripod with Sony Vario-Tessar T FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS lens: focal length 16mm, f/6.3, ISO 800.
Altogether 321 shots were taken, each exposed for 20'' with no intervals in-between. The camera was operated with a manual remote control locked-in for continuous shooting. The shooting session lasted about two hours
Postprocessing (merging the photos) was done using StarStax software.
In the foreground the remains of a giant clay oven - reminiscent of a giant canon - as this area was previously a mine for colored sand. Today it is a national park.
