Golden Onions

Ein Karem is a small village in the outskirts of Jerusalem known i as the location of the Visitation mentioned in n the New Testament. Because of it's holy connotation it harbors many churches, basilicas and monasteries. the biggest is the Gorny monastery, which was founded by Elisabeth the wife of Sergei Romanov, the uncle of the Last Tsar, Nikolay the 2nd, in 1911. It was , however, finished only in the first decade of the 21st century, when it's onion shaped domes were covered with gold.
The shot was taken just before sunrise, looking to the the north-east.
