Tanya, Thank you so much for your comment

Quote:"when it's your livelihood, you need to produce what's desired either by picture libraries or by clients."...
Photography like my art/painting has always been my (unsupported) passion for 50 of my 60+years. I have always found a way... That is not to say that I have not had, in the past, clients and commissions...It's just that I really haven't pursued that part of making art. I'm at a time where I really don't need the trouble or the income from "clients". I do art/photography to look into myself.

Quote: "It's about the shadow-self, in some ways. The sides of ourselves that we keep hidden away,..." [

The reason I referred to my photograph "off the grid" ( in my portfolio). it is that I have traveled around the Navajo res. and around the state. some people choose to live off the grid however some don't. the lonely powerpole represents those people and the hardships they face on a daily basis.

Quote:"one of the joys of reflections is that you are never sure quite what is real, what is a trick of the light or the ripples. It's all about the fleeting moment."

as is everything in life as a photographer/artist i try to capture that moment in time. to stop and truly see that moment and what it means to me. and hopefully what it means to someone else Maybe 1 person out of a thousand will "get it" That is a good thing but not really important to the art i create...c

Mora...'To capture what was in my mind as I was seeing"...sums it up for me too...I uploaded one I shot in color as a Mod... the original was an in camera b&w...

John I have tried to use the raw setting however my computer or me seem to have problems with it...I'll work on it.
The one or all the ones shot in color seemed to loose the detail I was "seeing" the black and whites did not have that problem maybe John or Moria you can explain that to me...

Give me another 10k photos and or 10K years and I just may get that one shot i have been looking for or seeing in my mind's eye. Wink

willie never noticed the typo...I'll blame a sticky keyboard...everyone's mod's are great and quite helpful...to quote PJ from the other day "a little fussiness" I need to be a little fussy and slow down during the processing. Kinda makes me think about my darkroom days when I would spent a great deal of time just to get one good print... sometimes slower was better...

  • You heard it here first

Mgp is is just marketing... Dpi is really all that is important..my Nikon d1 is has only a 2.5 mgp but it shoots at 300 dpi way more than the avg cell phone at 75 dpi...dpi equals resolution.
