Award Shortlist

Rufus Castle, Portland, Dorset.

By UrbaneMagick
Firstly, a huge huge thankyou for the awards , comments and votes that my street images have had of late..each and every one is fully appreciated.

So, this is Rufus Castle, on the Isle of Portland on Dorset.

Everyone knows of Portland Bill lighthouse, which is by far the most iconic & photographed place on Portland, but Portland offers so much for ( I know..I live here).

The Norman's and much later, Henry the Eighth built a series of coastal defencive castles around the whole Island. some , such as Portland Castle itself ( Henry the Eight) are in immaculate condition.
Others, such as this built by William Rufus, also know as the Red King are in quite a sorry state..but very photogenic.

Hope you like the image.

Taken on a Nikon D7100. and converted to Mono via Photoshop and Silver Efx Pro.
