I just wanted to wish Pete, Tracey and their team, all the members, and all of the friends I've made, a very happy and safe Christmas, and a more prosperous 2011.
I went down to our local duck pond to feed the ducks because the pond has been frozen over since the cold weather started, and they were looking very sorry for themselves.
It was like something from the film 'The Birds,' by Alfred Hitchcock, when I arrived, armed with bread. The seagulls, who usually don't come that close, mobbed me and were taking the bread out of my hand, before I could throw it to the ducks.
I walked on further to throw down seed for the small birds, and when I threw down seed for this robin, it rewarded me with a quick shot, before it tucked into the food on the ground. Even though it is winter, these robins are still territorial, as this one kept chasing its neighbour off.
This shot was taken last Friday, during the first snow fall we have had in this part of the country. I don't know if I get out again to get more shots so I thought I would upload my Christmas card now.
As usual any critique welcome, and it can be viewed large, if you have the time.
