Typical Spa

By vaughar
Delving into the archives of my motorsports shots for a while (until I get out and about again for another landscape trip).

This one from Spa in May 06 and with typical Spa weather. Rained all morning, sunny in the afternoon and the same again the following day. Good opportunity for panning shots against the pit wall and above the cars from the start finish grandstand.

Combination of the spray and the colours made this one for me. Not quite pin sharp, but caught the door and water droplets ok.

Hope you like.

Like it Rob, nice movement in here, maybe a touch too much pit lane wall for me as all that white draws the eye a little more than it should, but stunning conveyance of speed!!

heya rob,

good dynamic in this shot mate, the orange and the water both very powerful.

ive got to say as well i find the red and white road markings appealing in a geometric/design style way.

nice one, ads :o)

A well caught shot that captures the action in wet conditions nicely. I agree with Paul re wall. Might look better reduced downwards by half.

Fair comment on the wall guys Smile The track isn't that wide, so I cropped a bit off of the bottom (grass) and left the domineering pit wall in - makes the thought of that speed through standing water even more scary!

Will have a look at another crop though Smile

I like this. I agree with Paul about the pit wall, its a bit too much, but youve captured nice movement here and the water trail is really neat. Id crop some of the wall out and I think this image has alot of potential. Oh yeah, nice colors too!

Like the way they've taped the door shut!

With the rest re the wall, but like the way you have captured the moment in quite dreadful conditions.

Duck tape, got to be one of the most useful items in a race car mechanics tool box Grin Especially at an endurance race Smile

This this would benefit from a little bit of a crop at the top but its still a cracking image.

Thanks Dan.

From all the feedback it looks like I shouldn't have shied away from the letterbox crop
