Eye catching and the lighting is nice and even. The skin tones are also pleasing. (However, and I know I am being picky here - I feel that this would be an even stronger if the model was looking straight down the lens).

1 May 2004 5:25PM is my only ever attempt (so far) at a portrait. Fortunatly I left plenty of room for improvement. Next time I will have her looking at the lens.

Give it a try - you are shooting digital after all!
Having the model looking straight at the camera is not always what you want - I just feel that with this particular portrait, direct eye contact would lift the image a little.

Nothing glaringly wrong with this and no need to look at the the roots though.

hi mason,

if this is your first try and portraiture it is a very good try. It is natural, inocent and I think her looking away from camera adds a bit of mystery. Ist you learn the rules then you learn to break them.
