Andy Leek Dexy's Midnight Runners

By VicBarnes
Another publicity shot of Andy taken just before the release of his first solo album called 'Say Something' (produced by George Martin). Coincidentally, it is being re-released in January 2010 on Andy's own label and will feature a 16-page (CD-size) booklet of B&W shots I took (of Andy and George) during the recording at Air Studios in 1989.

Great picture Vic..
Reflection and lighting perfect...actually a very good shot for those wanting to learn about the technique of good lighting for portraits.

..or to put it another way,.how it really should be done. It's easy if you study it closely.Just needs that little working out..

The results if correct-perfection.

Love the effect of the reflection but the hand coming in from the left looks not like it belongs to the subject somehow ! Great camera the MX-- I have two,did have three but ex-wife went off with it also my 120mm f2.8 Pentax-M lens !

Thanks Pentaxpete. I did worry about that hand but I'm told that the angle of Andy's upper arm acts as a sort of 'join the dots' game! Despite all that, the pic has been used quite a lot. Oh well, too late to worry about it now...
