Winter Cascade

Padley Gorge. What better place to play around with HDR I thought. Clearly I was seeking a halfway believable justification for shamelessly re-visiting one of my favourite places.

This one is a combination of three separate exposures. Actually, it was a little more difficult than I thought as I wanted to retain movement in the water and I'm not entirely sure yet how the process combines the images.

Still, it was a good opportunity to test out the software and I'm pleased with the result. In this one I think the exageration in the tree canopies created by the short focal length adds to the composition and the moodiness of the sky also works well.

Thanks for any comments and critique you might choose to leave.

Interesting tree shapes - creepy, as if making their way to the water to drink...

This looks a beautiful place Nick with all the lichens and mosses, you've captured the movement and colour very well, love the tangle of bare trees, lovely image, Adrian

The effect is almost of the trees closing in. Really terrific colour and detail created by the HDR treatment.
