Round the Bend

By VintageRed
A visit to Staithes this weekend and a chance meeting with AlleyCatz and Wooly - hi guys.

I always find that I enjoy taking the well-trodden photographic highways but the challenge is to get something that is a bit different. Now this view probably has been taken before but I've not seen it so I'm going to pretend that it hasn't.

It's a view further up the creek, literally around the bend, hence the title. I sure you will have something to say about the inclusion of the plant pot. I tried it with and without and personally, although at risk of diverting attention from the building, I preferred this version. Hope you like it too.

Nick

Hi Nick....was good to bump into you.

I really like the colours & textures of the stone work....and the wispy clouds/sky.
Like the viewpoint also.

Nearly forgot to say ....I like the plant pot and would of keep it in also.

Excellent Smile

Plant pot provides a great sense of scale and the converging horizontals of the cliff and the building are very good too. Like this a lot Nick - kind regards Robin

Lovely colour and detail, with a good lead in, my eye being drawn to the white house with the red roof. Glad you left the plant pot in, its a nice touch.

The red of the pot catches the eye Nick, makes a great starting point for a wide angle, like the unusual subject you've chose, Adrian

Hi Nick, nice to meet up again.

I like the treatment of this and yes, it is a different view.

Plant pot looks fine to me, not too over-powering.

The post-processing you've applied Nick has worked well to lift all the shadow details up, and I think you were right to leave the plant pot, adds a dash of warm colour...

Well done on finding an alternative view Nick. The tone mapping has really lifted the shadows out in this.

Think I would like to see a touch more contrast though, but not at the expense of the details

I don't think I've seen this view from there before.

Love your composition and all the detail in the water......also like the little splashes of red from the rooftop and plant pot. Lovely work.
